EmSAT English
EmSAT English is a series of standardized English-language tests based on current national and international standards. They were designed and developed under the guidance of the National Committee for English Language Assessment, a professional committee composed of content and assessment experts.


EmSAT English – Achieve
EmSAT English Achieve is a college entry and placement test designed to assess the extent to which a student has the necessary language skills to actively learn in an English-medium college or university, or engage in technical training where the medium of instruction is English. This test is administered under secure conditions in certified test centers. Scores are used by the receiving institutions for admission into their degree programs, or for placement into their foundations programs.

EmSAT English Advantage
EmSAT English Advantage is a series of tests designed to assess the extent to which students are meeting developmental expectations in English language. The tests are administered to students in grades 4, 6, 8, and 10. The content reflects the expected language ability of the students in the specific grade being tested.

EmSAT English, IELTS, and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
There are two tables below. The first table shows the ranges of EmSAT English scores mapped against the CEFR bands, while the second shows EmSAT English scores mapped against IELTS performance bands.

The table above compares IELTS bands (Academic Track) and EmSAT English score ranges. While a perfect equating of any two tests is not possible, empirical analyses of UAE student performance on both tests have demonstrated comparable levels of performance in academic English proficiency.
